Multizone: Protecting Your Devices from Interference
Many IR extenders are designed to pass any signal that is transmitted through the receiver. However, this can sometimes disrupt your setup, as some devices in your closet may operate on a similar IR frequency, causing interference with one another. The Multizone feature of the BlastIR Wireless system is designed to protect your devices from such interference.
The Multizone feature allows you to control specific devices from designated areas within your setup. This functionality has been a highly requested feature from many customers who have experienced unintentional control of multiple devices located in the same space when extending IR signals.
The Channel IR System
The Multizone feature operates on a 10-channel system, enabling you to interact with your devices without worrying about interference between your Wireless Extenders. This system also gives you the flexibility to use any number of transmitters or receivers on a given channel, allowing you to freely arrange your displays and devices without complicating your setup.
The BlastIR Wireless Multizone Receivers will only communicate with the BlastIR Wireless Multizone Emitters set to the same channel. If you own the classic BlastIR Wireless, this product will also work with it. Channel 0 on this product will allow IR signals to be sent between the two different versions.
It's important to note that some devices use RF (radio frequency) instead of IR (infrared) for remote control. The BlastIR Wireless Pro only works with IR devices, so please ensure that your remote control uses IR before making a purchase.
Wireless Distance and Compatibility
The BlastIR Wireless Pro has a wireless range of up to 200m (650 ft.), but this distance may vary due to obstacles. The IR receiver distance is up to 7m (30 ft.).
Please note that the BlastIR Wireless Pro is not compatible with the following devices: Yamaha HTR 6140, Arris DCX 3520E-M, and OSD ATM-7 Speaker Selector.
Optimizing Performance
The BlastIR Pro receivers are directional, so it's important to face the receiver towards the area where you'll be using the remote. To improve reception and widen the angle of control, we recommend using the included IR receiver cable connected to the main receiver unit.
For the best results, the BlastIR Pro Emitters should be placed within a few inches of the devices you want to control. We suggest attaching the included optional IR emitter cables so that the emitter is directly over the IR receiver of up to two devices. These emitters are designed to stick directly to the devices you're trying to control, rather than sitting in front of them.
The package includes USB and AC power cables, extra IR cables, mounting adhesive, and rubber feet to help you set up your BlastIR Wireless Pro system efficiently.
